Patricia Rossini is a PhD candidate at the Social Communication Department of the Philosophy and Human Sciences School at the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil. She was a visiting scholar at Syracuse University in 2014 under Dr. Stromer Galley’s supervision. Broadly speaking, Patrícia is interested in studying the interplay between political communication and technologies. Her research focuses on online political talk, social networking sites, online campaigns, deliberation and political participation. Specifically, her dissertation aims at understanding how different discussion platforms such as social networking sites and news websites enable, constrain or shape the ways people discuss political news online.
